2/25: Moving on up…

The end of this week marks something quite special for me. As many of you are aware, the path to superstardom isn’t an easy one, and the American Idol over night success stories are few and far between. The reality is that in fact it takes a lot of time and patience to be able to do what you love for a living.

For me, this path has required me to work around the clock to support myself while my music career developed to a point where it could provide me with a living and I’m proud and happy to say that this is the last week I’ll be working the day job I’ve plugged away at for the last 6 years.

It really hasn’t been easy…imagine this scenario: You finish work on a Thursday, jump on a plane to Milwaukee, fly your entire band out to meet you, open for Gavin DeGraw in front of thousands and thousands of people, spend hours signing autographs, meeting fans and feeling like you’ve made it, then having to take a red eye back home so that you can be at your 9-5 desk at 9am the next morning where you open up Outlook and begin to slave through the 100’s of emails in your inbox.

It’s a strange existence but it makes it all the more worth it when you can finally say, I’m now a full time musician and recording artist…and I did it on my own dime.

So today guys celebrate with me as I say goodbye to the confined walls of an office and look forward to my first ever European Tour which starts on Wednesday.

The next part of the journey isn’t going to be easy, but I can’t wait to take on the challenges that will come in the next chapter of my life. If anyone ever tells you that you can’t do something…take their words and use them to propel yourself forward so that one day, you can walk past them and smile to yourself knowing that you proved them 100% wrong…

If you’re reading this then thank you, because without your support, I wouldn’t be writing this.
