3/12: Milan to Zurich…and everything in between…

Given that my previous experience of driving through the alps had been so disastrous I was hoping that they’d put me back on track when I drove from Milan to Zurich after our Milan show two nights ago…and boy did the alps redeem themselves…

Not bad…not bad :)

Our show in Milan was great…it was a very chilled out atmosphere and a great venue. It would mark the first time that I’ve played beneath a train station…the venue was aptly named ‘Tunnel Club’

Now as a city Milan is awesome, but I would not recommend to any of you that you try driving in it…the locals would rather see you go head first into an oncoming tram than let you change lanes…it’s pretty hairy :)

The next morning it was time to drive North, through the alps and into Switerzland, passing George Clooney’s house at Lake Como, crossing the border and then witnessing views like the picture above for 2 hours straight…not a bad way to spend a Thursday morning…one cool (and honestly a little unnerving) part of the drive is the 10 mile long Gothhard-Strassentunnel, the third longest road tunnel in the world…so I can check that one off the to-do list now :)

Zurich was really really fun, the venue was great, the crowd was plentiful and fun, and I sold out of CD’s…which means that the kind people of Europe have already doubled my CD sale expectations and we’re only half way through…so thank you to all of you who have been kind enough to take my music home with you…it means the world to me. Here’s a pic of Mr Alejandro Manzano of Boyce Avenue doing his thing last night…followed by a pic of my dressing room…the winner of the ‘coziest’ so far on this tour :)

Tada!

It’s not all fast cars and fast women you know :)
